Notes:
What a sunny morning to have a playgroup for the dogs. We were able to get 20 dogs out and into the sunshine with excellent socializing!
Scooby was a rockstar today, with excellent boundaries and reciprocating play invitation. Eventually he was rolling around on his back in the grass.
Damon was SM towards Jasmine after they chased around.
Evals:
Clay – 3rd eval - M, N, 8M (Brown / Tricolor Belg Malinois): Very ES and focused on Y/H when approached. Greeting with female and male went well. Still very focused and timid about my presence. Brought him into the big yard and he stayed on the outskirts but was social towards others, still avoidant towards me. Moved him into the hang out (upper) yard, saw him smooth out with GD play and eventually laying down.
Groups:
(Big Yard) Joey, Bentley, Stella, Dove, Scooby, Lillith, Clay, Pookie: Started playgroup with Joey, Bentley, & Stella. Dove was a little stiff on the introduction but after a thorough sniffing from Bentley she relaxed and all 4 got into chasing each other. Added Scooby, Absolute rockstar today! Lots of reciprocal play bows and chasing. Removed Bentley - vet appointment. Added Lillith with no issue, she loved chasing Scooby! Added Clay using Joey and Stella to assess, greets went well but he was overly focused on me in the yard. Added Pookie, she is such a great tolerant and social female!
(Hang Out Yard) Chance & Gloria: Couple of sweeties who loved hanging in the sun. Added Stark after a walk but he still came in stiff and posturing, smoothing out and resolving on his own. Chance is very good at diffusing, Removed Chance after stark smoothed out. Stark was SM towards gloria who corrected him, no issues after the correction. Added Lillith, after a big play round she just wanted to relax in the shade. Removed Stark, Added Clay. Saw Clay open up more in this yard with good GD play with Lilith.
(Big Yard) Pookie, Scooby, Smokey, Inky & Ivy: Kept Pookie & Scooby, Adding Smokey, Inky & Ivy. What a great PP group! If Scooby wasn’t already tired the wonder twins Inky & Ivy certainly made sure he was. Added Jasmine & Hazelnut, both came out of the gate ready to play and join in on the chasing. Jasmine & Pookie could not get enough wrestling in and taking turns flopping onto their backs. Moved Smokey to upper, Removed Scooby Added Bob, Bob had great fence greets with everyone and gave Inky & Ivy a run for their money.
(Hang out Yard) Clay, Smokey & Hazelnut: All three enjoyed relaxing in the yard as the day wrapped up.
(Big Yard) Bob, Inky, Ivy, Jasmine, Fusilli, Dammon & Emmett: Brought Fusilli in with no issues and really got into the PP play. Removed Bob Added Dammon & Emmett, brought out the bigger boys who had fun being social with some PP play.
Thanks,
Thaddeus
